Watch for Community Service Day Coming Soon!

Your State Officers have committed to a new event in multiple regions concentrating on community service work. The 2014 WCTSMA Fall Kick-Off Community Service Day will launch at Moses Lake High School September 22, 2014. WCTSMA is teaming with The Inland Northwest Blood Center on this community service blood drive. Nearly 60% of the blood center's supply of blood comes from community drives like ours. Members can sign up soon to give blood at www.Inbcsaves.org. Your State Officers hope to present valuable information regarding WCTSMA activities and events at the site. They are also planning on an educational segment to be part of this day. Activities are scheduled to run 10am to 1pm in Moses Lake. More information to follow shortly.

Sign up to donate at www.inbcsaves.org. "Click" on "View All Blood Drives" in the middle of the page. "Click" on the calander 9/22/14. "Click" our blood drive. Login to schedule an appointment.

Just a reminder that in order to donate students must have a picture ID with both their first and last name (school ID’s typically have this info) and a consent form if they are under 18.

State Officers Shine Through In the Rain At Summer Leadership

Your new WCTSMA State Officers showed what they were made of by leading activities at Summer Leadership 2014 at Kayak Point Park in Stanwood. After introductions, the fun started with ice breaker activities such as criss cross, tiro, and name ball toss. Leadership activities included skeleton build, Helium sticks, water balloon toss, Gatorade and taping relays. WCTSMA members were treated to a sunny BBQ presented by the BOD grill masters. Finally, awards were presented to WCTSMA members who demonstrated leadership throughout the day. Awards were presented by the State Officer Board. All members received a WCTSMA leadership pin for participation.

Summer Leadership Brings In New State Officers

WCTSMA Packs Yakima Convention Center for State Competition

Over 700 WCTSMA members invaded the Yakima Convention Center last weekend for the 20th annual Spring Symposium and State Competition. Total numbers were close to 900 with vendors, proctors and other support personnel.

Houston Kraft and Jim Wallis captivated the crowd with their "Rock Star" performances behind the microphone. WCTSMA State Officers went out with a "bang" as most entertained their last duties on the student board. New State Officers were selected while 2 returning State Officers will resume the duty of president in a co-chair position.

Issaquah High School defended their state title with a win over Wenatchee in a usual tight battle. Our California friends, Valencia, proved their intelligence with a strong 3rd place finish and a number 6 finish overall in grade point average.

Results will be available shortly on the website as we piece together student forum, poster presentations, JV quiz bowl, and speed taping finishes.

The State Competition is Here!
