WCTSMA Shows Well At Nationals

WCTSMA schools did an outstanding job at the AACI National Sports Medicine Competition that concluded June 1.  Issaquah continued their streak of three consecutive national championships winning the Cramer Division (large school division) and the overall (all divisions) national title.  They also had a new record of thirteen All-American (top 25) students, including seven in the top 10.  Jessica Hart was the individual Cramer Division national champion and Jessica Gallawa placed 3rd for Issaquah.  Wenatchee placed 4th in the Cramer Division and 5th overall.  Grant Kolde placed 4th for Wenatchee.

 

Auburn Mountainview placed 2nd and Mt. Vernon 3rd in the Jaybird Division (medium school division).  Kent-Meridian, Auburn, Olympic, and North Kitsap also placed in the Jaybird Division top 10. Individually, William Douglass of Kent Meridian was the national champion in the Jaybird Division.  Washington schools swept the top 4 with Simar Virk of Auburn Mountainview placing 2nd, Olivia Farrell of Mt. Vernon placing 3rd, and Kayla Underbrink of Mt. Si placing 4th.

 

East Valley (Yakima) and Spokane Valley Tech placed 4th and 5th respectively in the Alert Division (small schools division).  Avery Austin (4th) and Seth Valenzuela (8th) both of East Valley placed in the top 10 of the Alert Division.
